Frank Danna grew up surrounded by the majestic Appalachian mountain range in Asheville, North Carolina. For the first 11 years of his life, he was known to most as an adventurer, exploring mountains and trails around his home for hours on end. Although he wasn't "born" in Texas, he got there as fast as he could and now lives in Houston with his wife and two children.
Frank has a communications degree, and it's easy to see why - his love of storytelling draws anyone listening deep into the conversation and sticks with them long afterward. It's no wonder then that Frank has seamlessly integrated his passion for storytelling into his career. In just a year and a half, Frank has become one of the world's most sought after short-form content creators, working with massive global brands including Samsung, BMW, JLO, Coke, ESPN, and Nintendo. Frank's work on Vine, Instagram, and Snapchat has been enjoyed by tens of millions around the world. It all started as a passion project.
Frank downloaded the Vine app the day it launched and began playing with the features of the app to produce stop motion animation. He viewed the platform's 6-second time limit as a level playing field for creative autonomy rather than an artistic restraint. After a few weeks of tinkering, he was nominated for a Tribeca Film Festival award, and was runner up in the animation category. He had a sense early on that short-form content would take its rightful place alongside traditional advertising, and that brands would begin utilizing it to connect to the mobile generation. Frank formed a short-form content agency called parabox creative with another Vine celebrity, Hunter Harrison. Their agency was recently acquired by a technology company in Houston, Softway Solutions where Frank is now Senior Director of Brand Strategy.
